TTC Aluminum (TTC AL) Membrane

What is TTC AL?

TTC AL is a self-adhesive water-proofing membrane with a tough solar reflective aluminum foil laminated to a 1.0 mm thick coating of SBS modified bitumen.

HOW TO USE TTC AL?

TTC AL is a multi-purpose waterproofing membrane which may be used for mobile homes, porta cabins, roofs, residential porches and dormers, farm buildings, roof and gutter patching and aluminum sheets. It can also be used as a flashing on up-stands.

APPLICATION

The application temperature should be between 4°C to 45°C. The installation procedure is to be as follows:

Unroll only the required length and cut the pieces to the desired shapes and size. Place the pieces of membrane on the area to be covered and check whether they match with the profile of the marked substrate. Peel off the release film and carefully place the membrane so as to ensure a minimum of 50 mm overlap and then smooth-en the membrane from the center to the edges in order to drive out entrapped air.

HANDLING

TTC AL membranes are supplied in rolls of width 1m and length of 15m. The rolls are packed individually in vinyl to avoid any damage during transit or on site. The membranes can be unloaded by hand or any other convenient means, but ensure the absence of any sharp or protruding edges within close proximity to avoid puncturing the membrane.

TTC AL membranes must be stored in a shaded area on wooden pallets neatly covered by any thick fabric and tied securely in a manner that will ensure there is no excessive exposure to sunlight.

TTC AL contains a tacky bitumen compound and during application can adhere to human skin. Bitumen stains can be removed by using a cloth dipped in light solvents. In case the effected area is sensitive, like the eye, please contact the company physician for advice.

TTC AL is a non-hazardous, non-flammable material and therefore should be disposed of in any regular disposal area. TTC AL should be disposed of only after wrapping with paper, plastic or cloth as the modified material has tendency to soften under heat and pressure, which would make further handling very difficult.
